Biological Dentist Dr. Gaba Review of Molar Extraction

I finally did it.  More than a week ago I finally gave up the battle for a long lost molar.  Took the x-ray at Lapid’s dental center.  Drove to Dr. Gaba the biological dentist for my appointment.  No doubt about it, the molar needed to go.

First there was massive cleaning to be done.  Maybe in my entire life I never had a dental cleaning before?  Lots of scaly tar tar build up, even below the gum line.  Even had stones in them.  Good thing there is 21st century biological dentistry nowadays.  It all felt very thorough.  The man is an artist.

Then came the tooth extraction.  The tooth is not dead.  It is fully alive.  First there was the rubbing… probably anasthesia… and Dr. Gaba kept rubbing and all the while trying to painlessly sneak in his needle for the anasthesia shot.  I was trying to feel everything when at what moment he would plunge that needle.  But no, he had me fully distracted and I didn’t quite catch the shot.

Then came the molar extraction.  It felt like there was a mini car jack trying to bring up the tooth.  When that didn’t work, there was some drilling for something to grab on to the molar.  Then he started pulling.  Then more forcefully.  Full force… ow, my jaw hinges were starting to hurt.  Told ya the tooth was alive.  But the tooth roots finally gave way and the tooth was out.

Then the bone scraping and cleaning.  Must make sure no hidden infection in the jaw bone.  Dr. Gaba said he saw 3 spots and obliterated them.  Fun feeling, you know that he was indeed hitting and working on bone.

Finally it was all done and I had to bite on a piece of cotton.  The whole time distracted by music piped through my ears, my eyes were covered… as Dr. Gaba told me to think of that special happy time and place.  Ha! I’m not telling what my happy place was… but it worked.

My review of that extraction?  Compared to the other biological dentist who extracted an old root canalled molar on my left side, same as this one on the right?  Dr. Gaba is tops!  What can I say? The man is a true artist… relentlessly honing his craft… his speciality,   And this is why he is my number 1 choice for dental work on my family.

I was instructed to take Augmentin antibiotics for 5 days and 3 capsules maximum of mefanamic acid for pain reliever.  That belongs in a blog post all its own.
