Hunting all aluminum cookware
I and my wife have gotten into the kick of replacing all our aluminum cookware. We made one sweep a few months ago and we are doing a second sweep again. We identified that the two electric rice cookers are aluminum. Then the new rice cooking pot we use for the charcoal fueled stove is aluminum. Then we see our frying pan is teflon coated.
I asked our wise old neighbor where he gets his stainless steel cookware. He says he gets his from nearby Sta. Lucia Mall, the basement department store has lots of them.
What’s so bad about aluminum? Aluminum is toxic to humans. Aluminum leeches into food when the cookware is heated. Aluminum is in anti-persperants, think about that. That is why we have switched to using calamansi for our deodorant.
“The principal symptom of aluminum poisoning is the loss of intellectual function; forgetfulness, inability to concentrate, and in extreme cases, full blown dementia. It is also known to cause bone softening and bone mass loss, kidney and other soft tissue damage, in large doses it can cause cardiac arrest.”
