Regular western medical hospital for trauma
During our out of town vacation, my 3 year old 2nd son was in an accident. He was running full speed and missed the first step in a three step staircase by the swimming pool. He fell chin first on the edge of the last step. This caused his frail chin skin to crack open a clean 1 inch and a lot of bleeding.
We were in Real, Quezon in a resort, so we had to drive 30 minutes in the middle of the night to the only hospital nearest in Infanta, Quezon. The doctor was on call and speedily appeared in his motorcycle.
No real worries for the doctor. A sleepy simple job of stitching the skin together. 4 stitches. My real worry is the healing, the scarring. I’m talking about this son of mine is a handsome one. I hope this heals right.
As I’ve been saying to people, western medicine has a place in trauma care. Their emergency care is the only one available usually.
