Bee Pollen is a potent food supplement that gives you energy to stay awake
We went on a trip to the south of Quezon Province and on the way while on Alaminos I saw a cute little cottage with the signboard “Honey House”, it sure looked just like that, bee / honey products. So my son and I stopped the car and went back to investigate. A nice lady, probably the owner was minding the store, they grew their own bees, just enough to meet town supplies. They can’t even think of exporting outside of their town yet. Plus honey growing is a seasonal thing. We bought 2 different kinds of pure honey bottles and a curious product called bee pollen.
Bee pollen is pollen from flowers that is collected from bees as they enter the hive. What is in this bee pollen? This is what the sticker on the little container says: “Bee pollen contains an incredible array of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, co-enzymes and hormones. It is especially rich in B vitamins and antioxidants, including hycopene, selenium, beta carotine, vitamin C, vitamin E, and several flavanoids. It is composed of 55% carbohydrates, 35% protein, 3& vitamins and minerals, 2% fatty acids, and 5% other substances. Thus its one of the most nutritionally complete natural substances found on earth. Not for children below 7 years old. Take 1/4 teaspoon per day. Net weight 50 grams.”
Made by the bees via A & A Apiary in Alaminos Laguna.
The nice lady taught me that the makers of energy drinks add bee pollen in their products. The b vitamins in the bee pollen are potent natural “uppers”. She tells my that 1/4 teaspoon of bee pollen is enough to get a sleepy cross country driver awake enough to finish his night trips.
Sure enough, I was with a rented van driver friend last night and I gave him some of the bee pollen and he ate them. He drove from south of metro manila towards baguio city in the middle of the night last night. He texted me that he attests to the potency of the bee pollen and he arrived in Baguio city with energy to spare. Very good, very good bee pollen. There is truth in testimonials.
