Intussusception Recurrence? Not on my watch.

Our 9 year old boy woke up with a tummy ache.  Which became extreme.  I asked him to drink a good amount of coconut juice this time, half a glass.  which he did.  Tummy ache persisted.  He puked out all he drank later on.  Was this another intussusception episode?  Oh no you don’t.  Not on my watch.  Olive oil enema and Castor Oil to the rescue.

Boy woke up and asked me for olive oil enema.  When I saw it was serious yes I did give him an olive oil enema.  Then when it seemed worse and not progressing, after his puking I gave him 1 ounce of castor oil.  That worked fast.  Immediate relieving sensation, then much later on, 2 big dumps of poop material.  Not formed.  Maybe due to the oils.  Better relief.  Not 100% but he is up and playing climbing ropes with his cousins in the yard.

The big question is, what was it?  Maybe the clams?  But he’s had clams for 3 straight nights, all from the same source.  Why would night number 3 be any different?  Maybe the OMX probiotic last Saturday, it was just 1 capsule.  Maybe a bad reaction?  Would every bad intestinal contraction of his have to result in an emergency case?

Emergency is over.  Again.  I had to work at home and do my computer thing with my employees over the internet.  It’s not efficient but it works.

I’ll probably take him with me to Vander Gaditano next week.
