My 5 year old boy has stomach pain and threw up this morning

This morning my 5 year old boy was not able to go to school.  He had stomach pain.  He threw up some fluid this morning.  Not food.  In fact last night he only had tiny oranges for dinner… kyat kyat they call it.

Last night we went to an at home party.  But all the food there was contradictory to his eczema.  His left ear was beginning to act up again so as is good practice, we be strict with his diet immediately.  The party last night had everything bad for him: non-organic chicken, fish pond grown prawns, crabs, toasted bread, noodles / pasta.  The only item there safe for him were tiny oranges, kyat kyat.

My boy did not mind.  I forgot to feed him when we got home.  He didn’t ask for anything.  So he slept.  But this morning there was his stomach pain.  He barfed some fluid on the couch, then I got him to barf some more on the sink.  I told him to barf until he felt better.  I was with him throughout… kids need parental presence at this age.  He wanted to poop, but there was no poop.  He asked for Dr. Tam’s Miracle tea.  Boy knows some parental taught remedy.

Remedy I did for my boy was this:  If he were hyperacidic, I had him eat some cooked ground beef he was supposed to have for lunch in school.  I had my boy drink 1 teaspoon of barefoot herbalist dewormer mixed in 1/4 cup of water.  If he had some nasty parasite, that will calm down his stomach.  And a while later I had him drink 1/4 cup of Dr. Tam’s Miracle tea so he can poop his troubles away.  I left the house at 10am.  He says his tummy feels just a little better.  But he is playing with his sister and a visitor baby Dane.

I have 2 possible lunches for him later.  I’m making raw steak tartare for myself and there is the kinilaw tanguigue for lunch, also more cooked ground beef if he prefers cooked… and maybe some indian ghee. Let’s see.

Update: at lunch my boy was still in no mood to eat.  I just made sure he wasn’t dehydrated by coaxing him to drink fresh coconut juice when thirsty.

After I had lunch my boy barfed on the couch, the same cooked ground beef he ate in the morning, undigested.  So much for the hyperacity theory. Seems his digestion is shut down either due to parasites or some junk food he must have eaten, or the kyat kyat imported from China last night.

His poop stinks.  Had 2 movements after I had lunch.  Smelled bad.  But not much mass.  Maybe he has old stuff in his bowels.  Maybe it was that darn cake he was given sneekily Sunday after lunch.

Around 5pm my wife arrived.  I was back in the office checking on things.  My boy seemed better.  But I arrived and he got worse again.  I was frustrated to find out he was given those awful bottled vitamin C and multivitamins I’ve been having arguments with my wife against.  grrr… I discussed that this was not the time to give our boy anything synthetic, any food, anything non-healing.

The boy is not hungry, don’t feed him.  Follow his body wisdom.  He gets thirsty sometimes, give him coconut juice.  My wife suggested salabat / ginger tea, good idea, may it calm down his tummy.

Tomorrow he stays home for observation.  I’ll give him another dose of the dewormer first thing in the morning.
