I tried home made raw steak tartare for the first time

My son wanted ground beef the other day. So I went to market and bought the part I wanted. P 230 / kilo and had it ground up. Yummy… fatty. I refrigerated the ground beef, never freezing it and proceeded the following day to make my first home made raw steak tartare.
From what I understand of the original recipes on the internet and with having little available materials, this is what I came up with.
- Fresh raw ground beef… yellow fatty.
- 1 red onion, chopped in small bits.
- 1 fertilized chicken egg yolk.
- Freshly ground pepper.
- 3 pieces siling labuyo / Philippine Cayenne chopped in small bits.
Just mix them together and eat. Yummy, the fresh raw cayenne really made it taste great. I think it needed more cayenne. Finished a bowl full. Felt full, just the right amount.
Something for me to keep handy in the future when I eat within a social setting.
