Discovered the ability to climb up and down our 10 foot spiked gate
Saturday was the day to watch my sister in law’s film 24K. It is a film about the experiences of some Yamashita treasure hunters in the Philippines. As luck would have it, my wild food hunter texted me he had turtles and frogs. So I made the mad rush to drive 35 kilometers away to get the wild nutritious food. Darn, the traffic was so bad I headed back, to even more traffic. Sigh, it was one of those days.
As I got back, everyone had left the house. The maids kept one gate ajar with the padlock unlocked. I got in, dressed up, got the camera… for my wife, she was playing the harp in the gala snacks, grabbed my pocket for the keys to the car… uh oh, I left the car keys in the house! What’s worse, is I had already padlocked the gate behind me! Arggghh…
No big deal, it’s just a 10 foot iron spiked gate, I can climb it… but I never did once climb it, nor attempted it. But hey, with my new found raw paleo diet and lifestyle health and light weight and better relative strength, this was going to be easy. Surprisingly, it was easy. I got back in the garden climbing up the gate, and I got out the garden climbing up the gate again. No time to marvel at my personal feat, it was time to drive, drive, drive to far away Cultural Center of the Philippines in Roxas Blvd, Manila to catch the 24K show.
I did catch the show. It was great! I met two live certified treasure hunters after the show. These were the real heroes and I was glad to have met them. Maybe 50 pounds overweight ago I may have never made it. 50 pounds overweight ago I would never have considered climbing that gate. And even if I did consider it, or in folly attempted to climb the gate 50 pounds overweight ago, I may not have made it anyway.
