Is it bad to eat a lot of Pineapple?
I answered a question over at CavemanForum.com giving my 2 cents about pineapples:
Well today my dad bought a little box with sliced pieces of “Del Monte” pineapples. I’ve been craving them lately and I hate the whole box… Undecided
I wanted to know if anyone knows if they add any type of preservatives or sugar into their pineapples or the liquid at the bottom of the container? Well thanks anyways guys.
This was my answer:
That multinational branded pineapple is a heavily industrialized / non-organic / heavily sprayed etc corporate product. That pineapple probably grew in my country (Philippines).
I wouldn’t call it paleo. It’s a freak.
We make it a point to never buy such freaky fruit such as those branded bananas and branded pineapples.
That pineapple is a sugar bomb and a chemical bomb imo.
If you get your hands on an organic pineapple, you can only eat a limited amount. You stop when your tongue / mouth feels itchy or painful; this means you already got too much pineapple enzymes… powerful stuff.
When I eat too much cooked meat, a slice of pineapple will help me digest it quickly.
When I did my vegan days, my naturopath taught me to use fresh organic pineapple slices to let its enzymes soak on the vegetable greens to pre-digest it before I consumed the raw veggies.
Pineapples are good… when they are raw and organic. RAW organic pineapples are good, in moderation. What is moderation in the consumption of raw organic pineapples? When you feel your mouth or tongue starts to get itchy or painful… stop eating… you’ve had enough.
How do I know this? Pineapples are grown plenty in my country. Markets and street vendors sell pineapples. This is common knowledge.
