Gaining weight on a mostly raw paleolithic diet
It is almost the end of April 2008.
Last night my wife said, “you are so thin I can see your veins through your hands.” Hmmm…. another wise crack at my raw food diet huh? Those wise cracks would be true if I had stuck to a fruitarian diet but I did not.
Remember I began my raw paleolithic diet beginning January 2008? Beginning with the Wai Diet? Adding raw fish and raw egg yolks?
By March 2008 I added many more kinds of raw sea food, roasted fatty pork, raw beef, raw goat skin in vinegar and soups of goat innards. Trying hard to emulate the Homo Optimus Diet with 1 part protein, 3 parts fat, 0.8 parts carbs in the form of fruit.
I gather that since my fruit is mostly coconut, that is more fat than carbs. The high carb fruits would be mangoes and bananas, not much else is high carb.
I don’t eat vegetables. Fruits taste so much better.
I have not figured out yet how to get 3 parts fat on my diet yet, I must add more coconut milk (gata) to my regimen.
So back to my wife’s comment that I was thin? Oh yeah? I went straight for the digital weighing scale. Weighed 3 times to get a good average. I am 120 pounds on April 28, 2008. That means I gained 8 lean pounds since January. That is 2 pounds per month. I am meeting my goal. Hooray for me. And I gained 8 pounds while maintaining a 29 inch waist line.
My goal is 130 pounds, so that is an easy 5 months away. There is no rush. Just like when I was losing weight when I was overweight, I merely targetted 2 pounds per month.
I must sign up with a gym soon.
