Grandma’s heat problem, constipation, and sudden weakening

The last time I reported leaving my grandmother on sunday evening, refreshed and strong. She went around her room and her bathroom all by herself. Confident that I have done a good job, I left for home.

Monday I get a call from her caregiver complaining that my grandmother finally unloaded her poop, not just once but twice. Success after 6 days of non pooping. But Tuesday the caregiver said my grandmother was even weaker.

What is the problem? A pattern is emerging. Two consecutive weekends I nurse her to health, I take her back to her makati home and by Tuesday, weakness and disaster strikes. I remember now, last week I chanced upon her room in the early afternoon and found her room unbearably hot. I talked to the caregiver and she agreed that the room does get hot beginning after 9am until 4pm everyday as the sun shone in. Her daughter does not know this. My grandmother says she likes this heat. I say she has omega 3 deficiency problems and this has bent her perception of temperature as she is always cold during normal temperatures… just like my brother.

My grandmother it seems is like a frog in a pot slowly being cooked to death by a hot room. It does not help that she is salt deficient. She cannot take in more water. Omega 3 deficiency makes her think the unbearably hot temperature is good for her. But her own caregiver cannot stand that afternoon heat everyday and just leaves my grandmother in her room.

There lies the apathy and ignorance of the people surrounding the sick. Maybe I’m just observant. The masters of the house are out at work during those hot times. The caregiver can’t stand the heat during that time and leaves my grandmother to herself. My grandmother cannot sense the extreme heat and dehydration she goes through everyday and gets weaker and weaker. A slow dehydrating death.

What to do? Move her to a better room. Move her out to cool parts of the house when the sun overheats an area. Do the watercure recipe: Mix a 2 liter bottle with 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt and have this 2 liter bottle poured out in 3 oz cups and see to it that my grandmother drinks every 30 minutes the whole day everyday from the time she wakes up to the time she sleeps. Enforce her taking 6 capsules of omega 3 fish oil everyday. I heard she takes only 1 capsule per day.

Is my analysis correct? Can I implement this remotely?
